Job Description

Manufacturing Equipment Technician:
Performs on-site service and repair of semiconductor processing equipment.
Troubleshoots equipment problems; maintains records and reports as required; coordinates activities with peers, supervisor(s) and customers to minimize equipment downtime and interruptions; orders and installs parts; responds to emergency service calls as required; and instructs customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance.
Remain current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, factory periodicals, and other relevant materials. Incumbents are responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and security of company property including vehicles, tools, etc. Employees must also maintain standards of conduct acceptable to both employer and customers to maintain credentials for being on customer site(s).
Dismantle, adjust, repair, modify, upgrade, and assemble equipment according to layout plans blueprints operating or repair manuals rough sketches or drawings.
Perform setup calibration and preventative maintenance on production equipment. Preform calibrations in the field and in the lab to verify correct operations of meters, probes, Calipers, micrometers, and handheld instruments.
Effectively pack and ship calibrated instruments to other sites.
Manage, track all documents, and maintain lab equipment for proper use.
Additionally in this role assignments are semi routine in nature. Work is performed within generally defined parameters and employee normally receives general instructions on most work.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits/skills:

Verbal and written communication skills with the capability to effectively communicate with peers engineering and customers.
Ability to manage office and shop site to streamline equipment storage and ease for use.
Create tracking documents for all equipment and use for the company.

The candidate should be willing to:
Work in confined clean room environment spaces for extended periods of time wearing coveralls hoods booties safety glasses and gloves. Willing to lift 35lbs climb ladders.
Spend most time greater than 90 percent less break time on the manufacturing floor working on tool sets walking 3-5 miles a day and/or standing or sitting for 9 hours.
Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and ability to lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds is required. The position may require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents, or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, in constructions sites, etc.
Be able to travel to sites in the area to calibrate, deliver equipment, etc on an as need basis.

Minimum qualifications:
Associates degree in electronics, engineering, or other applicable field of study. Previous experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment is a plus but not required. Excellent customer interface skills are required. Mechanical and electrical aptitude is required as well as an ability to use appropriate tools. Thorough understanding of technical issues involving the maintenance, repair and/or installation of company equipment and company procedures.
Candidate must possess a STEM Science or Technology or Engineering or Mathematics or associates degree or bachelor's degree or Mechanical or Technical certification or related semiconductor manufacturing with 6+ months experience or equivalent military training.
6+ months of experience in electrical and/or mechanical measuring devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, and/or micrometers.
