Job Description:
General SummaryThe Puppet Wrangler is the key contact for
puppets on stage and responsible for the puppets on the shooting
floor while maintaining the priorities and deadlines of the Puppet
Maintenance team.
Job Functions
- Schedule and track all puppet assets delivered to Animation and
Stage and ensure comprehensive hand-off for each puppet to the
Puppet Maintenance team.
- Ensure all Director and shooting floor puppet maintenance
requests receive bids and are assigned to the right artist.
- Ensure that members of the Puppet Maintenance team are aware of
their priorities and deadlines.
- Track updates/delays and reports back to Production Scheduler,
1 st Assistant Director (AD) and Production Manager to ensure the
shooting schedule is adjusted accordingly and remains
accurate.
- Create and disperse accurate daily call-sheets and status
reports for the Puppet Maintenance team.
- In collaboration with the Head of Puppet Maintenance,
communicate long-term maintenance needs to Production and Puppet
Fabrication.
- Ensure that all required Puppet Maintenance crew members arrive
to stage, theatre and editorial reviews when requested; communicate
absences and backfills where appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining continuity of puppets within assigned
shots/sequences.
- Assist in asset tracking and inventory upkeep of puppet
parts.
- Review upcoming schedule with the Puppet Maintenance team.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of feature film experience preferably in
animation.
- Highly organized, self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize in fast-paced, production
environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. Physical Demands

- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the
employee works under typical office conditions and is exposed to
variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually quiet or
moderate.
LocationOn-Site in Hillsboro, OR / and also eligible for hybrid
work / Remote Eligible
SalarySalary is commensurate with skills and experience.
