ESS partners with school districts throughout Oregon to provide substitute staff in a variety of different roles, including substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, and food service staff!



Certified substitute teachers step in to save the day when a classroom teacher is absent. They follow lesson plans to instruct students, carry out classroom routines, and ensure a safe and productive environment. The State of Oregon requires all substitute teachers to hold an active Oregon Teaching License, Restricted Substitute Teaching License, or an Oregon Reciprocal License.
Paraprofessionals give students with special needs the extra support they need to flourish! They work under the direction of a classroom teacher provide assistance where needed, promoting academic and personal growth.
Custodians perform essential cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a healthy, safe, and functional school environment. They make sure every school day runs smoothly so students can focus on learning.
Food Service Staff prepare and deliver meals to students, while maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment. This essential role gives students the fuel they need for productive learning.
