JOB TITLE: Turnover Janitor II
HOURS: Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm
PAY:18.24
SUMMARY: The Building Janitor II is responsible for the overall
cleanliness and orderly condition of the building(s) they are
assigned to.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform janitorial, pest control and turn-over tasks including:
Pest control inspections/identification and sprays,
Clean lobbies, hallways, offices, bathrooms, exterior grounds and
common areas. Clean windows, floors, countertops, elevators,
appliances, furniture, fixtures, and other building components.
Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing, disinfecting and
polishing.
Clean sidewalks and other outside public areas as directed.
Scrubbing, stripping, mopping, waxing polishing floors, cleaning
carpets and pressure washing exterior surfaces.
Perform detailed cleaning including bio-hazards/pest control and
special projects.
Perform minor repairs requiring basic maintenance skills.
Observes the work of Janitor I(s) and reports back to leadership on
progress and details of work.
Help with answering and messaging of front desk telephone calls as
needed.
Assists in maintaining and ordering equipment and supplies.
Conducts safety and quality inspections of buildings and job
sites.
Responsible for maintaining MSDS.
Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork - electronically and
hard copy.
Maintain work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly manner. Adhere to
all safety procedures.
Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations
applicable to the program, and to CCC policies and agreements
regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience using cleaning agents sanctioned by CCC and knowledge of
handling hazardous materials.
Ability to learn applicable safety policies and procedures,
including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and the ability to
apply workplace and job-site safety standards.
Ability to identify bio-hazard situations and clean in accordance
to OSHA standards and regulations.
Ability to do overhead work.
Ability to work in all adverse weather conditions including but not
limited to rain, wind, heat, cold, snow, and ice.
Ability to learn and apply training instruction.
Ability to work on a computer and learn/navigate Microsoft Office
Suite.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions with little
or no supervision.
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
Ability to lead and train janitors.
Ability to foster high morale and low drama among staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must have at least six (6) months experience in interior and
exterior janitorial cleaning.
Must have at least three (3) months experience identifying bed
bugs, rodents and other insects.
Must have experience in floor care - stripping, waxing, buffing and
carpet cleaning.
Must have experience operating various cleaning equipment, i.e.
extractors, buffers, power washers, vacuums, steam cleaners.
Experience and knowledge of proper chemical usage and application
of chemicals specific to pest control and bio-hazard clean ups.
Must be able to use a ladder safely in accordance with OSHA
guidelines.
Must be trained or be able to be trained in bio-hazard cleanup.
Must be able to read, write and understand English. Must comprehend
and apply written and oral instruction.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background
check.
If a recovering chemically dependent person, must currently be
clean and sober.
Must have sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to
perform duties.
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and
lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and climb stairs.
Must adhere to agency's non-discrimination policies.
