Within DEG, we are Xeon Server SoC validation team who enables future generations of CPUs that power Cloud, Enterprise, and Data Centers. We're part of Silicon development organization within Data Center validation team and looking for motivated, passionate, talented engineers to join our System Validation team.Your RoleSystem Functional Validation Engineer who is enthusiastic about solving problems, validating and debugging SoC at IP and System level. The team provides logical validation of Intel Server CPU products for entire product life cycle from pre-silicon to post silicon and customer support. An eligible candidate is responsible for development of methodologies, definition and development of test plans, content development and debug failures. Interfaces with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon Validation teams in improving Post-silicon test content and providing feedback for future on-die debug features. You will be working with DFx, Debug Tools, Validation Tools, BIOS, Firmware, Platforms in length and breadth.You can just not see the futuristic products getting unfolded but be a part of it, build it, take pride in it.Your ResponsibilitiesDefine, create and develop system validation test plan and contentUse and apply emulation and pre-Si platform tools and techniques to ensure test readinessInterface with architecture, design and pre-silicon validation teams in improving post-silicon test contentResponsible for development of methodologies, execution of validation plans and debug silicon failuresDrive post-silicon Xeon server SoC debug effort to identify root cause and resolutionWork with cross-functional teams to improve post-silicon validation test strategy, methodology, and processWork in a fast paced environment with real-time problem solving and critical thinkingQualificationsMaster's/Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Hardware Engineering with at least 4-6 years of related work experience required.Required SkillsA high degree of hardware architecture/microarchitecture experience in CPU/SoC/Chipset/and one or more of the subsystemsStrong Validation and Debug Skills/ExperienceStrong knowledge and skills of Intel IA32 architecture is highly desirable.System and/or Functional area debug expertise is highly desirable.Strong Problem solving and Analytical skillsGood knowledge in C/Python SW programming for test development and scripting.Preferred SkillsMicroarchitecture debug knowledge of Intel's Core and Uncore or equivalent architectureDeep understanding of one of the domains: PCIe/IO, Memory, Power Management/Reset architecture and debug.Pre-silicon validation or Design verification methodology knowledge is a plusAbility to drive and co-ordinate Cross domain and across teamsExperience developing validation methodologies and infrastructure.Test plan and test development experienceParticipated in silicon bring up and debug, support to internal engineering teams.Working knowledge of Server OS, Linux, Windows, CentOSWorking knowledge of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzersExperience in collaboration with geographically diverse multi-functional teams.Inside this Business GroupThe everyday contributions of the Intel Validation Engineering (iVE) team are essential to retaining/regaining Intel's product leadership.
