Job Description:

UCTis seeking an experienced and talentedJunior Quality Engineerto join our team inHillsboro, OR!The Junior Quality Engineer plans and coordinates quality activities in conjunction with the Site Quality Head (or Site Operations Head, if no Site Quality Head is in place) to ensure all components, processes, and products satisfy technical requirements. Provides technical assistance to site functions to resolve processing issues and promote continuous improvement. Provides advanced product quality planning and training as necessary to support the successful launch of new parts, processes, and products. Serves as the technical liaison to internal operations to effectively resolve all issues, promote quality, productivity improvements, and cost reduction. May include inspection activities as required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop & lead quality improvement projects, based on prioritizing metrics such as cost of quality, inspection data, and/or Customer quality escapes.Utilize various problem-solving methods (8D is most common) and techniques to isolate variables in order to identify the cause(s) of undesirable process results. Develop solution options and propose the most effective options to optimize predictable and repeatable results.Prepare reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing data and present solution proposals at various forums. First Article Inspection Reports is the most common report neededResponsible for final visual inspection of all parts from site to outside process vendors or parts shipping to the customers. This includes Hardware, Cosmetics, and Critical surfaces, Part marking, Packaging, and Labeling.Participate in internal and external audits (not applicable if the site is not ISO-9001 registered)Drives corrective and preventive actions, including process and product design improvements for procedural, product, or process deficiencies through the analysis of data from various sources.Generates routine reports for review by management.Provides technical advice to material review boards (MRB), evaluates discrepant material, and decides its disposition as needed.Responsible for meeting/exceeding internal quality goals and objectivesOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Quality review experience to focus on meeting customer requirementsUnderstanding of Quality methodologies; 8D base knowledge is a mustQuality certifications a plus (ASQ CQE, CQA, CSSGB, CSSBB)Proven ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functionsProficient in the use of MS Office and Knowledge of database software.Educational/Certification Requirement: High school diploma or equivalentExperience Requirement:Work Experience:3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
