You can help us write more chapters in our success story as we move towards celebrating our 100 year anniversary.Job DescriptionPeterson Cat has an immediate need for an experienced Crane Inspector to be based at our Hillsboro, OR location.SUMMARYThis position will have responsibility for inspecting cranes and maintaining industrial equipment used in facilities maintenance work. Responsible to perform and document OSHA inspections of cranes, hoists, and mobile crane equipment. Manage equipment data information such as serial numbers, model numbers, and other identification information of equipment. Perform repair work on equipment as needed to maintain it in safe and operational order.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign the functions to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Perform and document OSHA inspections and routine maintenance on cranes, hoists, and mobile crane equipment.* Responsible to perform documented safety inspections of specific types of facility equipment used in heavy equipment repair business and within OSHA guidelines.* Manage equipment data including serial numbers, model numbers, and other important identifiers to determine repairs and or replacement parts.* Identify needed parts and repair procedures to perform repairs on equipment, clean, maintain and adjust crane hoisting mechanisms as well as other parts and features of overhead cranes, inspect cranes for defective parts, notifying supervisor of defects or malfunctions, repair and replace defective parts and equipment as needed, test and evaluate mechanical and electrical operation, lubricate and check oil levels as needed.* Communicate with customers and interface with our facilities department on all repairs.* Discuss immediate safety and performance issues with supervisor.* Properly document hours worked, services performed, writing service acknowledgements, and working with computers.* Travel by vehicle, or most efficient means of travel, to other company locations, training, industry related meetings.* Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.* Works safely at all times, adheres to all applicable safety policies, and complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.* Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.* Perform other duties as needed.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Work with or around equipment, and able to work at varying heights. Electrical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and competency in safety standards within a heavy industrial environment. Demonstrated competency to perform crane inspections and work on industrial machinery used in Heavy Equipment industry.
