impact?The Operations Engineer defines factory and service
requirements for ion and electron microscope products and
contributes to the product and process improvements after release.
The engineer is to provide technical support in order to enable
efficient solutions to problems in Manufacturing and Supply chain.
The position closely interfaces with various company functions to
solve complex problems and to ensure that system specifications are
met in compliance with Thermo Fisher's requirements for product
shipment to customers.What will you do?+ Assist fellow engineers on
both improvement and new product projects as they transition from
concept through release according to PMP and MDP process.
Responsible for completing all deliverables assigned to Operations
Engineering. + Perform and assist in the development of mechanical
and electrical design needs to support equipment in aid of the
manufacture of emerging technologies. + Conduct detailed
troubleshooting and analysis of system or component level problems
that affect reliability, performance, etc. This includes the use of
statistical analysis such as JMP, Statistical Process Control
software, practical process improvement (PPI),or other established
methods. +How will you get here?Education+ University degree in a
technical discipline such as chemistry, engineering or physics.
Strong preference toward mechatronics, robotics, and electrical
design. Master's degree preferred.Experience+ 3+ years of technical
experience in high-tech industry environment in engineering,
operations, design, or development. + Demonstrated experience with
mechanical and electrical design. Experience with electron/ion
microscopy a plus. + Demonstrated ability to plan and resolve
issues that involve gaining cooperation of cross-functional,
multi-cultural groups and sites.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities+
