Hillsboro_Corporate 5100 NE Dawson Creek Dr Hillsboro, OR 97124, USA Description The Vice President (VP) of Payment Services is a dynamic and proactive leader that understands the vital relationship between people, processes and technology in financial payment channels. This senior leader will provide modern strategic direction derived from consistent engagement in payment communities while encouraging cross-functional collaboration at the department and enterprise levels. The VP of Payment Services will drive efficiencies through their knowledge of optimization and innovation to support accelerated digital payment volume growth while valuing meaningful member interactions and experiences. Qualified candidates will have at least 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role and demonstrated proficiency in managing a complex suite of payment products and services, leading and developing large teams and projects with an emphasis on effective results and cultivating highly collaborative partnerships. Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful: Job duties: Continuously seek to acquire current and future state information from membership and engagement in payments communities (e.g., networks, processors and federal agencies) to understand trends and developing technology through educational and networking activities as means of informing recommended strategies Assume overall strategic and operational responsibility for major payment channels including but not limited to wires, ACH, P2P, e-Deposit, shared branch, MICR items processing and lockbox payments Anticipate emerging risks and mitigate existing risks relative to payment channel operations, prioritize and resolve issues identified to increase reliability and sustain effective and efficient payment operations Collaborate consistently with internal stakeholders including Retail, Digital Products, Deposit Products, Fraud Operations, IT, Special Assets Management, Finance & Office of Controllership, Compliance/Risk/Legal, Consumer, Mortgage and Commercial Lending, Operations, Enterprise Solutions and others to proactively drive performance and manage risk Drive the ongoing optimization of servicing processes by leveraging automation and upskilling talent; promote higher levels of efficiency and improved member experiences while adhering to regulatory requirements and credit union policies Hire, develop, and motivate individual contributors, managers and directors to achieve high levels of engagement, retention and business performance Develop and execute strategic and financial business plans that supports the credit union's growth, member and employee experience and profitability strategies Project professionalism and competence to vendors, partners and internal stakeholders; actively engage in the external payment product and services thought leadership space to gain insights that drive continuous innovation Contribute to the strategic planning and positioning of payments within Enterprise Operations and other divisions influencing the Credit Union's strategic direction Exercise administrative control over all phases of the department's operations, directly or through the collaboration with other divisions/teams Essential skills: 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role and demonstrated proficiency in managing a complex suite of payment products and services and developing relate strategic business plans Experience managing and analyzing financial statements at a corporate level to determine opportunities for the credit union while appropriately managing risk Previous experience leading, directing, and coaching large teams both locally and remotely Hands-on experience with financial software payment applications (e.g. Zelle, Ensenta, Finastra, Fiserv and the Federal Reserve) Comprehensive understanding of state and federal regulatory requirements Experience in identification of operational, reputation and legal risks relative to various payment channels Understanding of various entities processing rules including NACHA, SWIFT, EWS/Zelle, etc) Visibility of the industry landscape and evolutionary channels including Real Time/Faster Payments, PSD2, Fintech and Disruptors in the space Detailed oriented with continuous process improvement methodologies Effective interpersonal, managerial and organization skills Comprehensive understanding of product and project management practices Proven ability to interact with and influence executive management Education: MBA preferred and a Bachelor's degree is required preferably in Business Administration, other related fields of study or equivalent experience Certification: Pacific Coast Banking School, Western CUNA Management School or other recognized banking certification preferred Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 First Tech is not currently offering Visa sponsorship for this position Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
