Join our awesome team in an exciting, fast paced, and ever-growing industry!MSR-FSR is seeking a talented and experienced Safety and Quality Coordinator to join our team in Hillsboro, OR!The role of the Safety and Quality Coordinator is to provide local and immediate EHS support and oversight to MSR-FSR's facility operations in Hillsboro and local client site(s), as needed to ensure operational and delivered product and service quality compliance. The performance objective is to aid in the protection of people, property, and the environment, through a cooperative relationship with operations to continually identify Quality and EHS improvement opportunities leading to improved performance and efficiency. Experience Level: Junior Role - nonsupervisory.Essential Job Functions: Coordinate compliance of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other federal, state and local regulatory requirements applicable to MSR-FSR's operations.

Participate in the preparation, maintenance, and dissemination of written documentation providing guidance to EH&S compliance and improvement efforts (e.g., policies, manuals, plans and programs, procedures and guidelines, forms, and training programs). Works with Operations to ensure proper profiling and packaging of hazardous waste in accordance with EPA/DOT/State regulations.Respond to operation's requests for EH&S assistance (e.g., answers to questions, EH&S technical and regulatory clarifications, creation of EH&S plans and forms, EH&S evaluation of workplace designs, and product EH&S evaluations). Perform/participate in spot inspections, Job Hazard Assessments, and process reviews to ensure EHS compliance. Complete audits to determine the status of compliance with regulatory requirements and conformance with company requirements, and to seek out opportunities to improve EH&S performance. Provide post-audit recommendations on actions to address deficiencies. Perform outside reviews (off-site audits) to ensure safety of MSR-FSR personnel and maintain compliance. Conduct / assist in incident investigations. Inform the Director of EHS of all new opportunities for program improvement. Compliance and improvement: Maintain and support compliance and continuous improvement efforts as an internal staff support coordinator to Engineering and Operations.
First point of contact for facilitating resolution for all site product quality issues by partnering with Engineering, Operations and our Suppliers. Present performance and action plans to aligned goals and objectives during regular monthly reviews.Maintain globally-aligned quality ISO 9001 business processes with company and customer requirements.Assist in developing procedures and work instructions.Review, categorize, quantify, and analyze product nonconformity reports to detect trends and identify the possible need for corrective and preventive actions.Serve as the single point of contact for site training requirement needs.Oversight:
Conduct internal audits of the quality management system to determine whether the quality system is effectively implemented, and conforms to management system requirements.Perform monthly Production Spot Checks to assess training effectiveness and audit ongoing conformance to documented processes and procedures.Coordinating updates to quality plans for product quality and site scorecard improvement.Perform and oversee essential quality control inspections using specialized equipment, including but not limited to magnifiers, black lights, CMM tooling, and profilometers.Job Skill Requirements:Ability to effectively communicate and explain Quality and EHS requirements to others and respond to questions from workers, managers, and clients.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and e-mail.Ability to clearly communicate in English through verbal and written documentation. Ability to research, interpret and understand federal, state, local and client EHS requirements.Ability to write reports to include objective interpretation of facts and circumstances, identify causal factors, and recommend corrective actions.Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including: protective eye wear, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a sporadic basis.Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor construction sites for inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed.Desired, not mandatory:Broad knowledge and experience in Quality and EH&S compliance requirements and industry best practices.
Knowledge of ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001.Experience with conducting Quality and EHS audits and production spot checks.Business process improvement experience - ideally demonstrate an ability to define and creatively implement quality business systems within the Operations teams. Demonstrated skill in preventive quality engineering methods, data analysis, critical thinking, structured problem solving (i.e., six sigma, 8D), the use of metrics to identify opportunity, and business process improvement. Knowledge in regulations related to air emissions and sewer discharges. Knowledge of safe handling practices of chemicals & handle potentially hazardous substances utilizing proper procedures. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills. Ability to understand, embrace, and effectively make changes occur. Individual who is a self-starter and is able to work independently. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff members in relation to EH&S and Quality. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the company management of all levels. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills.Broad knowledge and experience in Quality Management, from both customer and supplier perspectives. Educational Requirements:
Associate's Degree or equivalent technical training in an EHS related field, and/or 3-5 years' progressive leadership in EHS positions. Preferred additional experience in inspections/auditing, training, hazardous waste management. Preferred Quality and EHS certifications and/or a commitment towards continuous professional development in the Quality and EHS fields.
