Job Description:

individuals to join our dedicated fleet as Driver Trainees with a
CDL Permit. This position is ideal for those looking to begin a

values safety and professionalism. Through our comprehensive
training program, trainees will gain the necessary skills and
knowledge to safely operate commercial vehicles and prepare for a
successful driving career at Sysco. Participate in a rigorous
training program that includes both classroom and practical
on-the-road training. Learn the federal, state, and local
regulations associated with operating commercial vehicles. Assist
in loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring that all shipments are
correctly and safely secured. Perform routine pre-trip and
post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate and
report any maintenance problems. Develop proficiency in managing
delivery documentation, including logs, reports, and delivery
receipts. Maintain a clean and safe vehicle to uphold Sysco’s
reputation and safety standards. Practice defensive driving
techniques and adhere strictly to company policies and procedures
as well as traffic laws. Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and
safety standards. Strong orientation towards providing excellent
customer service. Ability to adapt to various driving and weather
conditions. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physical
ability to handle heavy lifting and cargo management. Medical

Must possess a valid CDL Permit at time of hire. Will be required
to obtain a full Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within a
specified time period after initial training. DOT Medical Card or
ability to obtain prior to starting.
