Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:Expert level experience in all phases of Access-based application development. Responsible for database design, implementation, end user education, maintenance, development of forms, reports, queries, VBA, and using Access as a front-end to other database systems via ODBC and ADO. Troubleshoot, support, maintain and new development for various Access-based applications. Integrate and control Excel applications in Microsoft Access via VBA. Functions as a resource for -Salud! Services team. Ensures the databases work properly and repair if any issues occur. Responsible for gathering requirements and incorporating the changes. Creates, revises and updates user and technical guides.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -Performed majority of the time - - Provides technical support to departmental manager and -Salud! Team - Installs application program product upgrades. - Corrects application program malfunctions. - Develops new application program products and systems to meet the reporting demands of the organization and department. - Installs operating system software upgrades as indicated by MIS. - Maintains software documentation in accordance with established departmental policies. - Analyzes program malfunctions in an effort to correct and prevent them. - Establishes and maintains procedures and controls for program products under consideration by the organization. - Analyzes and optimizes operating system performance. - Evaluates new and existing products with regard to their ability to meet the needs of the organization. - Serves as technical advisor/trainer for MIS staff. - Provides project leadership to those involved in development or implementation of application program products and/or systems. -Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job: - Provides 24 hour support when necessary. - Acquires new skills/education as necessary. - Communicates application and system modification specifications to user community.Decision making and budget responsibilities (e.g. impact limited to the employee, entire unit or organization-wide): - Decisions impact user system experience.JOB SPECIFICATIONS:Education:Required - Associate Degree in Computer Science/Programming or equivalent experience.Preferred - N/AExperience:Required - Minimum of five (5) years of experience in programming, systems analysis and design on IBM AS/400 required. - Experience with AS/400 languages RPGIII/400 and CL, and utilities including Client Access, DFU, SDA and Query. - Experience with AS/400 security.Preferred - Experience with healthcare related systems. -Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:Required - N/APreferred - N/AJob Related Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:Required - Demonstrates a knowledge of and experience with programming concepts, analysis and design. - Demonstrates experience with project control and/or leadership. - Exhibits knowledge of Information Technology and AS/400 operational techniques. - Demonstrates advanced knowledge of personal computers and printers in a networked environment. - Demonstrate the ability to take technical, complex information and communicate to users effectively. - Demonstrate advance knowledge of writing training manuals and technical manuals. - Able to deal with multiple demands of a fast-paced office in a calm and pleasant manner. - Excellent customer service skills. - Utilizes effective communication skills. - Professional personal appearance makes a good first impression. - Demonstrates confidentiality regarding patient and employee information. - Collaborate to develop dashboard and easy to use reports for report groups. - Partner with a growing and developing systems team to identify, analyze, and execute opportunities for more efficient and accurate information management throughout the entire organization. - Administer the appropriate system maintenance for the department's database servers. - Foster a data environment focused on accuracy and integrity through analysis and coding. - Prioritizes duties in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. - Utilizes feedback from customers in decision making.Preferred - Bilingual skills a plus.Additional Posting Information: Hillsboro Medical Center believes in providing equal employment opportunities for all qualified individuals.
