Job Description:

As a software application engineer at Tokyo Electron you will be working in a fast-paced environment as part of the data engineering and advanced analytic group. In this role you provide support across multiple business unit that could include but is not limited to; data engineering, cutting edge process improvement and application development. This group is on the forefront of development of semiconductor data science solutions. Therefore, the ideal candidate would be able to scope technical projects, architect solutions and help support implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point on data quality issues reported by users.
  • Has strong knowledge of software system design, and strong experience in modern software development lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain operational and analytical scripts, or other tools to swiftly resolve data quality issues or drive actionable decision-making.
  • Quickly synthesize ambiguous customer problems into clear situation analyses, summarizing the impact radius, solution options, and trade-offs of each
  • Collaborate with cross-functional professionals to deliver high-quality and innovative solutions that meet the business needs and create new opportunities.
  • Provide code reviews, receive code reviews constructively, and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Identify and drive initiatives for improving team performance.
    Qualifications:
    • A degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field preferred but can be replaced by work experience or competency.
      (Typical Education and Experience)
      Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of related experience; or Master's Degree with 2 years of related experience; or Associate's Degree with 8 years of related experience; or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required. )
      • 3 years of Etch or other semiconductor process experience preferred.
      • A minimum of 4 years hands-on working in software development preferred.
      • A minimum of 4 years' experience of coding proficiency in Python with experience in one modern framework, ORM libraries, pytorch/tensorflow and and a basic understanding of APIs and front-end technologies. Experience in Pandas or other data frame libraries required.
      • Experience with Kubernetes, docker and Git is preferred.
      • Understanding of relational and dimensional database modeling.
      • Ability to design and implement projects with minimal guidance.
      • Has a high level understanding of common machine learning algorithms, data analytics and their respective applications. ML Ops experience desired.

        Physical Demands and Work Conditions
        The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
