LTD Area Managers are responsible for leading complex organizations
delivering on tactical operational goals and strategic development
plans. LTD Area Managers provide leadership for the creation of
novel equipment process modules as well as innovation of existing
platforms in support of the LTD process technology development
charter and consistently meet or exceed production output goals on
first of kind equipment and to steadily make rapid progress on the
development of future process tooling, recipes, and support models.
Area Managers are responsible for creating and maintaining
enthusiastic engineering teams defining and developing the new
state of the art process technology and for teams of engineers
working to improve operational efficiency and deliver on
development commitments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
---Safety - Create and consistently support safety improvement
initiatives in the fab and office areas. Often working on systems
to reduce operational hazards and to avoid ergonomic injuries.
Environmental - Need to actively consider resource usage and
effluent stream treatment options to minimize impact on the
environment both on-site and at future manufacturing sites.
Strategic Planning - Envisioning and articulating strategic plans
that will fit across multiple process generations and integrate
into the larger goals of the individual programs. Plans need to
consider technology needs, commercial implications, production
affordability, and environmental impacts. LTD Area Managers are
expected to create, negotiate, and proliferate strategic plans
across multiple internal and external groups rather than follow
someone else's roadmap.
Equipment performance - Equipment performance and continuous
improvement of process modules is required to meet development
commitments and, ultimately, deliver cost effective modules to
Intel manufacturing organizations.
Cost - Need to manage daily operational costs as well as long term
structural costs. Need to watch week spends versus budget and to
deliver a process that will be cost-competitive in high volume
manufacturing. Projects need to be delivered on time and within
budget.
Culture - Needs to demonstrate organization and emotional
intelligence to understand how work is completed, how to remove
roadblocks, where human bandwidth is challenged, and quickly react
before problems arise. Will be expected to fully support corporate
initiative and to develop a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive
cultural environment where employees and bring their whole selves
and contribute and grow to their maximum potentials.
External Interactions - Need to collaborate with equipment and
materials suppliers develop technology. Lead efforts to establish
Intel as the leader for process technology in area of
responsibility, and ensure that supplier strategic plans are
aligned with Intel's needs
Need to partner with Product and Technology Program Managers to
deliver novel process modules to meet needs and with production
teams to achieve output goals.
Must be willing to occasionally work in a clean room environment
wearing a gown, hood, booties, safety glasses and gloves.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Ph.D. or Master's degree in Physics, Material Science, Chemical
Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
15+ years of experience in research and/or work in the
semiconductor industry
10+ years of experience leading and setting priorities for multiple
engineering teams in a large organization
10+ years manufacturing process development experience working with
advanced semiconductor technology nodes
Experience in leading teams working on interactions between process
modules and programs
Experience in collaborating with or working in major semiconductor
suppliers
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer experience leading technical organizations as a manager of
technical managers
Prefer demonstrated skills in building a vibrant and inclusive
organizational culture
Prefer experience working in roles that require both daily tactical
consistency as well as long term strategy definition and roadmap
execution.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows
employees to split their time between working on-site at their
assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work
model may change to accommodate business needs.
