Job Description:
Legacy Health is seeking a dedicated Lactation Consultant (non
RN) to join our integrated health system. This role involves
providing expert breastfeeding and lactation care, counseling, and
education to new mothers across our facilities in Oregon and
Washington. The ideal candidate will have a passion for maternal
and child health and be committed to promoting a positive
breastfeeding experience for mother and baby through personal
consultations, group sessions, and ongoing follow-up support.
Assess the breastfeeding interactions between mothers and infants
to identify issues and provide solutions. Educate and support
families about the benefits and techniques of breastfeeding.
Develop and implement individualized care plans for lactating
mothers. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
to ensure holistic care. Lead breastfeeding classes and support
groups for expectant and new parents. Maintain accurate records of
patient interactions and outcomes. Strong teaching and counseling
skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability
to assess and troubleshoot breastfeeding techniques. Knowledge of
maternal and infant nutrition and health. Cultural competency to
work with diverse populations. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Lactation Counselor
(CLC) or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
required.
