Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Histology Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days, evenings, nights - Employment Type: Travel - JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE MX Performs all of the repetitive (high volume) tests in a modern anatomic pathology laboratory. Cuts, stains, and mounts specimens of human tissue to provide data on functioning of tissues and organs, causes and/or progress of disease, following established standards and practices. Provides input in designing, evaluating and implementing new methods. - DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The laboratory teams at Samaritan Health Services have responsibilities for testing samples that may include blood, body fluids and tissue to aid in diagnosis of diseases, illnesses or conditions that may need medical attention. Lab tests are processed for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients twenty four hours a day. In addition, testing is performed on outpatient and clinic specimens. All Samaritan Health Services labs are licensed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services - the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Act (CLIA), and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). - EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must be actively following or have completed a Histotechnician/Histotechnologist approved route to meet eligibility criteria for certification. - ASCP, AMT or equivalent certified Histotechnician/Histotechnologist required.
