Job Description:
Legacy Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical
Technologist First Assistant to join our dynamic team at our
state-of-the-art healthcare facilities across Oregon and
Washington. As a vital part of the surgical team, the Surgical
Technologist First Assistant works directly under the supervision
of the surgeon to ensure the safe and effective conduct of invasive
surgical procedures. This critical role requires precision,
reliability, and attention to detail in the surgical environment.
The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of surgical
procedures and the ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs,
handle instruments, and assist with procedures safely and
hygienically. Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including
sterilization and layout of surgical instruments. Assist surgeons
during operations by passing instruments and other sterile
supplies. Help with suturing, providing hemostasis during surgery,
and applying dressings. Operate and monitor sterilization
equipment. Adhere to all surgical safety protocols and procedures.
Maintain a clear field of operation and assist with visualization
during the surgical procedure. Participate in patient care before
and after surgery, working with other healthcare professionals.
Strong grasp of aseptic techniques and sterilization. Proficient in
handling and maintaining surgical instruments. Excellent manual
dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to stand for long
periods and remain focused in high-pressure environments. Effective
communication skills for interacting with surgeons, staff, and
patient families. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision

by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
(NBSTSA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
