Special Education Teacher Location: Portland, OR Agency: United Health Care Staffing Pay: $61 per hour Shift Information: Days Contract Duration: 13 Days Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position Surgical Technologist - OR Location: Portland, OR Start Date: 03-16-2026 End Date: 06-15-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Mid 5x8); block schedules required; rotating on-call nights and weekends (night call shifts 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM every ~4-6 weeks, weekend on-call covers Friday 10:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM broken into ~9-hour segments) Hours per Week: 40 Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour About United Health Care Staffing At United Health Care Staffing (UHC Staffing), we believe healthcare staffing should be more than just finding a job. Roles & Responsibilities Scrub all surgical procedures across specialties, ensuring sterile technique and surgeon support Prepare, maintain and manage sterile instruments and equipment for each case Perform accurate specimen handling and labeling to support patient care and pathology Follow Universal Protocol (time-out) and perioperative safety standards to protect patients Chart procedures and patient care activities in Epic in a timely and accurate manner Respond to emergency management and fire safety procedures when needed Collaborate with the OR team to maintain efficient case flow and excellent patient experience Participate in block scheduling and on-call rotations, providing dependable coverage Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist or NBSTSA certification preferred (screens accepted if not certified) BLS (Basic Life Support) required or preferred per facility guidance Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience (2YR requirement noted) Ability to scrub a broad range of cases including neuro and orthopedic procedures (must have 3s or 4s in neuro and ortho skills checklist) Comfortable charting in Epic and following hospital documentation standards Available to start on March 16, 2026 (candidates who cannot start on this date should not be submitted) Knowledge & Skills Aseptic technique and maintenance of a sterile field Sterilization and disinfection protocols Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures and OR safety practices Laser safety, radiation safety and sharps safety awareness Specimen handling and labeling best practices Familiarity with a wide range of procedures: general surgery, gynecology, neuro, ortho, urology Ability to function in a teaching hospital environment and work collaboratively Benefits Generous housing stipend and travel support to help you settle in quickly Comprehensive medical, dental & vision options so you can focus on patients, not paperwork Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep your credentials current Paid time off so you can recharge between contracts Malpractice and liability coverage provided for peace of mind on the unit Flexible block scheduling—get predictability and work-life balance Supportive team environment where your skills and growth are valued Referral bonus program to reward you for bringing great teammates aboard Travel Perks: Explore Portland, OR Explore Portland’s vibrant neighborhoods and outdoor playground: stroll the aisles of Powell’s City of Books, wander the Japanese Garden, or grab a bite at the city’s famous food cart pods.
