About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day
4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of
experience within the last 3 years in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry or
Progressive Care Unit. Neuro trauma stepdown experience with NIHSS
certification preferred. Experience as a traveler preferred.
License: Oregon RN license is not required at the time of
submission; pending is acceptable. Oregon CNA license must be in
hand at the time of submission. Certifications: BLS certification
required. ACLS preferred. NIHSS preferred. Must-Have: Management of
telemetry. Interpretation of cardiac rhythms. Management of
dysrhythmias. Oxygen protocol compliance. Non-invasive airway
management. Peripheral line care and management. Knowledge of
isolation precautions and PPE. Experience with cardiac drips
including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and Nicardipine.
Description: The position involves providing nursing care in a
medical/surgical/telemetry setting. The nurse will care for
patients with a variety of medical conditions, particularly those
recovering from neuro trauma. The average patient ratio will be 1
nurse to 4-6 patients during the day shift. The nurse is expected
to float within the facility as needed. The nurse will use
computerized documentation systems for charting. Experience with
telemetry and cardiac monitoring is essential. Assistance with
rapid response team activations is required. The nursing role also
includes managing IV medications and drips. The nursing staff will
collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient
care. Patient care includes monitoring vital signs, administering
medication, and supporting patients during their recovery.
Additional responsibilities may include wound care, managing
tracheostomy, and administering blood products as required. The
work environment is dynamic, and flexibility is key in dealing with
