ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: NON-PRIORITY RECRUITMENTThe Wound Care Clinic RN works as a member of a multidisciplinary team, with the primary responsibility of providing direct and indirect nursing care for patients. They will assess the patient's needs as well as the family's needs in developing a plan of care. The Wound Care RN will demonstrate fiscal responsibility and accountability while using effective resources. The Wound Care RN will also participate actively in education and implementing and assessing the effectiveness of each plan of care.The RN will also be responsible for developing the wound care program, including assisting with policies and procedures, and program growth. They must have skills in wound care nursing or assisting staff as the program grows and be flexible to assist in other areas as needed or requested by the Medical Group Manager or provider.The Wound Care RN will also have the necessary skills to properly debride wounds and the critical thinking skills and education to select and apply the appropriate bandages/dressings. This includes the use of wound vacs or other wound care modalities as requested by the provider or deemed necessary by the Wound Care RN. Keeping up to date with current evidence-based practices in wound and ostomy care is also required.Job RequirementsKnowledge of/Skill/Ability to:A thorough knowledge of triage competence, skill and techniques in patient care. Effective verbal, written, and phone communication skills. Must be able to communicate with hospital contacts both on the telephone and directly, and effectively communicate with all age groups, populations, and individuals within the hospital. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritized and be organized. License/CertificationCurrently licensed as Registered Nurse by Oregon State Board of Nursing and Washington State Board of Nursing, current BLS Certification through American Heart Association and Wound Care Specialist Certification required by an accredited wound care association.Education and/or ExperienceExperience in wound care specialization and ostomy education preferred. Minimum of two years as a Registered Nurse. Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA CompliancePosition requires the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to four continuous hours/day), sit for long periods of time while utilizing the computer and/or phone, and the ability to lift or assist in lifting greater than 50lbs. Persons may be exposed to infection when cleaning contaminated rooms. Work is in a fast-paced, changing environment. Normal or correct vision and hearing required. Must speak, read, write and understand English. Dexterity required to operate equipment. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and possess verbal and clerical skills. Works inside. Occasional long shift necessary.
