Hours: Monday - Friday; 8am - 6pm


The Pharmacy Technician Operations Manager provides technical support to Pharmacists in the processing of prescriptions and maintenance of the Pharmacy Department. This position supervises the Pharmacy Technicians, provides daily support to the Pharmacy Operations Manager, and monitors operational activities through quality assurance audits. This position requires an individuals who has experience as a Pharmacy Technician, extensive experience with pharmacy workflows, able to direct the available resources appropriately to maintain an efficient pharmacy operation, and able to manage the logistics of a pharmacy prescription filling program.


Pharmacy Technician Duties

1. Perform all duties necessary to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of medications, including gathering necessary patient information, entering it into the computer system, preparing medications and labeling containers.

2. Accurately and efficiently utilize GSL, dispensing system, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

3. Maintain excellent customer service, including answering phones and refill requests from patients, and responding to questions from staff and patients that do not require a Pharmacist's professional expertise or judgment.

4. Maintains billing and insurance accuracy by performing on-line billing procedures, calling third-party insurers for clarifications of payments, and assisting in preparation of prior authorization requests.

5. Contributes to and continually builds a positive work environment. Maintains a positive attitude towards co-workers and patients alike.

6. Effectively communicates with all staff including but not limited to other technicians, pharmacists, Pharmacy Operations Manager/PIC, Director of Pharmacy, any other clinic staff, etc. regarding but not limited to current projects, workflow improvement strategies, and overall pharmacy systems management.

7. Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.

8. Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services

by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Leadership and Planning Duties

10. Assists the Pharmacy Operations Manager/PIC in managing the technician operations of the Pharmacy including monitoring of inventory, supporting day-to-day operations, delegating responsibility as needed, and assuring adequate resources are available to meet customer needs.

11. Actively contributes to the planning and achievement of Pharmacy Department objectives and goals.

12. Facilitates the development and implementation of new services.

13. Actively contributes to the evaluation and continuous improvement of patient services, policies and procedures, and coworkers.

14. Works in collaboration with the Old Town Clinic Pharmacist(s) to develop and meet departmental goals and objectives.

15. Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Pharmacy Program Leadership

16. Direct at least one of the pharmacy's prescription filling services, as assigned, including but not limited to appointment base, bubble packing, and Parata or be involved in maintaining and improving pharmacy systems.

17. Responsible for inventory management, pharmacy workflows, and financial monitoring against established targets.

18. Train new employees and existing employees when procedures change.

19. Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Operations Support

20. Assists the Pharmacy Operations Manager/PIC in planning and implementation of technician and pharmacist schedules.

21. Develops and maintains the pharmacy technician training program and procedural updates.

22. Orients and directs the training of newly hired pharmacy technicians.

23. Assumes responsibility of operational requirements as directed by Pharmacy Operations Manager/PIC.

24. Monitors pharmacy technician performance and provides feedback as well as performance evaluations.

25. Collaborates with coworkers (e.g., pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, etc.) to assess cost savings measures.

26. Provides payroll support for Pharmacy staff.

27. Perform other duties/projects as assigned.


1. Methods and techniques of pharmacy operations.

2. Knowledge of medical terminology, various insurance plans and formularies.

3. Basic algebra and general chemistry knowledge.

4. Modern office procedures and methods, including computer systems.

5. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

6. Principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting.

7. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

8. Must be able to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary setting.


1. High school diploma or certificate of equivalency.

2. Minimum of two years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required. Additional specialized training in pharmacy or a related field is desirable.

3. Current license with the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.

4. Must have current BLS/CPR certification or must be able to obtain in one month.

5. Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.

6. Mastery of all OTC pharmacy filling processes and workflows including but not limited to appointment base, bubble pack, Parata, and vial fill.

7. Must adhere to CCC policies and procedures.

8. Must be physically able to walk and climb stairs several times a day.

9. Must pass pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check.
