Our job is to invent, to demonstrate, and to develop game-changing and revolutionary technologies to enable Intel's technology leadership.

We're looking for a PhD level engineer to characterize quantum devices at low temperature, as well as perform simple computations of quantum circuits in dilution refrigerators. Responsibilities are the following:

  • Primary study will be on spin qubits in silicon
  • Hands-on expertise with device electrical measurements is required
  • Experience with cryogenic and vacuum systems, in particular, dilution refrigerators
  • You will need to efficiently communicate and collaborate daily with other groups to determine and validate success criteria
  • Independent design and follow-through of unique, enabling ideas is a key expectation from this role
  • This position includes overseeing measurement equipment and collaboration with external research groups and vendor programs

      Minimum requirements:

      Master's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Quantum Engineering with 6+ years of experience or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Quantum Engineering with 4+ years of experience.

      Experience in the following:
      • Physics understanding of quantum devices including qubits
      • Experience with the electrical measurement of devices
      • Measuring qubits or quantum dots
      • Familiarity with quantum physics
      • Cryogenic systems, including dilution refrigerators
      • 1st author publications
        Preferred:
        • Understanding of CMOS devices and device physics at low temperature
