Job DescriptionGlobal Construction Engineering (GCE) is
responsible for the design and engineering of all of Intel's major
manufacturing and cleanroom projects globally. We are a team of
specialized in-house architects and engineers in a highly
collaborative environment. We work together with our factory,
operations, and supply chain partners to deliver some of the most
technically challenging projects in the world with demanding
schedule and cost constraints.Process Project Engineers are highly
valued and are relied on to provide technical leadership in their
area of expertise. Our Process Project Engineers are one of the
first to be consulted for any major construction project related to
process/bulk gases. Early in the project, they assess feasibility
of new projects. They later develop more detailed scope through
field walks and collaboration with facilities operations partners
and project engineers from other disciplines. During detailed
design and construction performed by our world-class supply chain
partners, our Project Engineers serve as the Owner's representative
to provide technical guidance and issue resolution.Our Project
Engineers are the primary leaders who develop discipline scope and
engineering solutions for construction projects. They interface and
coordinate with contract design, construction, scheduling, and
estimating resources. They also interface with facilities staff and
project managers to enable facility design efforts for their area
of expertiseThis position is based in Oregon. However, voluntary
opportunities exist for global assignments based on construction
project needs.As a Chemical Construction Project Engineer your
responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Define design criteria, lead scope definition and
justification, develop design concepts, and oversee completion of
positioning, programming and detailed design.
- Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project
budgets are met.
- Have knowledge of Intel's master specifications and standards
yet use our change process to improve those standards and drive
- Be accountable for building and driving safety culture of
caring in every business environment, office to the construction
sites, and from front-end planning to construction execution.
- Collaborate and share learnings with their counterparts at
other sites across the globe.The successful candidate should
exhibit the following behavioral traits:
- Written and verbal communication skills, especially with
- Willingness to collaborate across engineering disciplines,
organizations and geographic boundaries.

- Working knowledge of office personal computer
- Willingness to interface with a multi-user customer base.
- Skills to manage workload of multiple projects of varying
- Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract

project lifecycle.QualificationsYou must possess the below minimum
qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum
requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top
candidates. Position not eligible for Intel immigration
sponsorship.Minimum Qualifications:The candidate must have at least
one of the following:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience on
architectural and engineering projects.
- Master's degree in Process/Chemical Engineering or closely
related field with 2+ years of experience on architectural and
engineering projects.Preferred Qualifications:
- Focus on industrial, semiconductor, and cleanroom
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, P/ID's, Pipeflo, Revit,
- Basic knowledge of control methods for process systems.
- Registration as an Professional Engineer.
- Experience with:
- Bulk chemical systems, specialty gas systems, and associated
piping distribution systems.
- Technical writing.
- Construction, start-up, and commissioning/turnover of
- Building and fire codes and hazardous occupancies.Inside this
