Starting Rates: $846/wk. with Bachelor's degree

-Schedule: Full-time, M-F 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
-Brief Description:

• 
  
• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance to bring their math skills up to the level required to be successful at work and at home. -
  
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines to best fit students with a variety of skill levels and learning styles. Class sizes are no larger than 18 students.
  
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
  
• Utilize workplace language and behavior expectations in the classroom; relate academic skills to career training and workplace requirements.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance and accountability records, progress assessments, and other required documentation.
  
  Education and Experience Requirements:
  Bachelor's degree and current Oregon teaching license or in the process of obtaining one. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency. - Valid driver's license w/acceptable record. -

  Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by MTC for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County. Students apply for admission and work at their own pace, guided by academic and career training instructors who are committed to their success. Tongue Point offers students training in 12 vocations. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program; it is the Center's largest vocation.
