Job Description Position Summary/n The Certified Medication Aide
delivers quality care to patients during the admission and
readmission process in accordance with all applicable laws,
regulations, and Life Care standards. /nEducation, Experience, and
Licensure Requirements/n /n - High school diploma or equivalent /n
- Graduate of a State approved CNA program /n - Currently
registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active
license in good standing throughout employment. /n - One (1) year
geriatric nursing experience preferred /n - CPR certification upon
hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain
current during employment. /n - Completed a State approved program
and exam for Certified Medication Aide /n /nSpecific Job
Requirements/n /n - Make independent decisions when circumstances
warrant such action /n - Knowledgeable of practices and procedures
as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing
functions in the post acute care facility /n - Implement and
interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
of the department /n - Perform proficiently in all competency areas
including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and
sanitation /n - Maintains professional working relationships with
all associates, vendors, etc. /n - Maintains confidentiality of all
proprietary and/or confidential information /n - Understand and
follow company policies including harassment and compliance
procedures /n - Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering
to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of
Conduct and other appropriate compliance training /n /nEssential
Functions/n /n - Accurately and safely prepare, administer, store,
and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly
used in the facility as well as those which may be ordered by the
attending physician /n - Assist in developing and implementing
procedures to assess potential medication errors; when, where, and
why they occur; and how they can be prevented. /n - Report
medication errors immediately. /n - Ensure that no medication is
administered without a written, signed, and dated order from an
attending physician /n - Chart appropriately and in a timely manner
/n - Perform CNA functions as directed by supervisor /n - Exhibit
excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
/n - Assist in the evacuation of patients /n - Demonstrate
dependable, regular attendance /n - Concentrate and use reasoning
skills and good judgment /n - Communicate and function productively
on an interdisciplinary team /n - Sit, stand, bend, lift, push,
pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working
hours /n - Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
