Responsibilities: We are seeking a talented systems integration professional who can strengthen our capabilities and enable the transition of technology from a development environment to production manufacturing. The Oracle Mechanical Product Engineer (MPE) is a position within the Supply Chain Operations organization that supports mechanical designs across the global supply chain. The MPE is responsible for engaging with the development engineering and Oracle cloud data center operations teams, transforming general specifications into specific requirements for manufacturing. The MPE will provide DF input to broad design concepts and detailed features, lead product qualification activities and guide root cause investigations on mechanical and integration defects. Additionally, the MPE will usher integrated cloud compute, storage and networking rack systems through initial builds and qualification at factories around the world. Specific core skills include: Ability to work in a dynamic environment, evaluate and take measured risks, and demonstrate resilience when driving change. Builds reciprocal relationships with different parts of the business, partners, suppliers, and customers Proven communication skills with the ability to gain broad support and buy-in --- adjusting the message delivery to address specific needs of the audience. Demonstrates leadership by motivating and inspiring others to align their actions with the larger organizational goals Generate insights and creative solutions to complex problems Ability to project remotely to teams in North America, Europe and Asia Role specific skills include: Contribute to analysis of mechanical product designs relative to DF Criteria (Design-For-Manufacturability, Design-For-Assembly, and Design-For-Serviceability) Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and its business impact in managing various manufacturing levels from part (L1) thru server (L10) to rack integration (L11) With design engineering and supplier quality engineering, develop Quality Control Plans for manufacturing Manage all ECO cut-in / phase in processes for the smooth integration of product changes Monitor and react to quality and reliability excursions through the product life cycle Drive continuous improvement of product quality Knowledge of various manufacturing and fabrication methodologies and tooling with sheet metal, plastics, plating, painting, powdercoating, casting and machining Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo, Solidworks or similar), 2D drawing interpretation and statistical tolerancing Experience with part quality control measurement systems, SPC and GD&T familiarity Good understanding of process driven RCCA techniques and Design of Experiments Familiar with production revision control systems Proven ability to create specifications and work instructions Ability to travel between 10 - 25% of time Experience with Supplier Process Management is a plus Process Capability (Cpk) studies, manufacturing control plans, and quality audits Tracking, analysis, and periodic reporting of supplier quality performance Drive timely and effective root cause corrective action (RCCA) for supplier related product and process quality issues Education and Experience: BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field 5 years--- experience in design or manufacturing of mechanical products through product lifecycle phases Experience in computer hardware electronic systems fabrication and assembly is required. Colorado Pay Range: from $79,000 to $148,000 per annum eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle---s differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
